BS happens! So, there I was exporting my Documentary and it only a part of it exports after nearly 2hours, despite me selecting the whole sequence to be exported. But *sigh* I sorted that earlier this week...
Voila, attempted to encode my documentary for my test screening (today) and after God knows...the whole thing encodes with no sound. NOOOOOOOOO SOUND.
Angry isn't even the word right now. If I can get this sorted by tonight (when I get back LATE from a theatre trip) then hopefully the test screening can go on tomorrow.

Now at the end of editing, my doc stands at 33mins. I'm very happy with the finished product. I must say editing was fun - from the funny out-takes to learning new editing techniques. Hopefully feedback from the test screening will allow me to weed out the bits are not needed/interesting etc. Really, all that's needed is my title sequence (I've left space within the 33mins for it).

Editing
Editing has gone well, 3/4 of it has been done I must say I've thoroughly enjoyed it.
I've downloaded a lot of (youtube) tutorials + used the adobe ones also, funnily enough I haven't needed them - well only for the Title sequence. Adobe Premiere Pro has been pretty easy to use which is good.
After editing the documentary, my main priority is cutting the time down - I'm not even finished and I'm near 30 minutes *sun dun dunnn* but I should be able to cut it down anyways.
Once finished, my test screening will commence!

Last week of filming
So yesterday marked my last day/last week of filming. Woop woop!
Next week is half term and so this will be the week I finish all editing - I doubt that I will need to fill in anything with more clips which is good.
PLAN (13th - 19th February): Artefact
- Finish editing
- Plan screening group - I'll invite a few friends and family to watch my finished documentary and get their feedback, kind of like a pilot for a survey or a focus group yadda yadda yadda.
- Make any changes on documentary based on the comment of others.
PLAN (same dates as above): Report
- Finish the report! Other than the reflection, I am finished...
- Fix up the referencing on the report :)
By the deadlines Rebecca has given, I'll be finished! Hopefully the documentary comes out how I imagined...

The end (of the project) is near!
And I am well on my way to finishing before the deadline!
So this week, I did shooting of myself introducing the project etc etc at Spa Green park, Islington and in the surrounding area, the shoot went well - the cold weather was the only downside of the day. The last shooting of me is next week, woop woop! Everything else is done (footage-wise).
Nevertheless, I mentioned to two of my friends that I wanted to shoot on top of a roof and one mentioned that a group in her photography class had done so. If I can find the right people, I'll defo include a panoramic shot of the surrounding areas in my documentary.
Editing is most likely to commence on Adobe Premiere Pro, seeing as a trial is much easier to get hold of (than Final Cut Pro 7) especially as I'm most familiar with Adobe (well photoshop & illustrator) anyways. I was considering using Avid Media instead but it appears too complicated & at least with Premiere Pro there is the advantage of cross-platforms (so I can always bring it into college and throw it onto FinalCut).
I must say I am feeling excited about getting the project done...

Progress
Well not as much as I've wanted seeing as I need another memory card (before Christmas one the technicians said I wasn't allowed a fourth one -_-). I'm going to have to get a fourth one to finish the documentary!
Anyways:
- I've got more of my social experiment done, this has consumed most of my time
- Wednesday: was unable to film due to the weather, unfortunately. Hopefully, this wednesday, I'll be able to cram two sets of filming in before 3!

How the week has gone...
- Social Experiment: so far, I have only done 3 more, I have three more lined up. It may seem a bit ambitious, but I will get half done by the end of the upcoming week.
- Transcribing: this has been so tedious, I seriously need to get this done by the end of the week also.
